A BBQ and a Miracle

This past Saturday I was honored to not only be asked to attend a special Volunteer Appreciation BBQ for the Pride Center of the Capital Region, but also sing the National Anthem at the second of a double header game between the Amsterdam Mohawks and Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs. It was a wonderful day of making new connections, breaking a french fry world record, and being out and about in my community. CNY Pride

Hi Folks!

Saturday I had a busy day filled, traveling from Syracuse to Fultonville for two different events. I had initially planned to also make an appearance at Schenectady’s Pride Festival, but I ran out of hours in the day! Day of Silence Weekend of Adventures Part 1

This past Friday was the National Day of Silence, a silent day of protest observed throughout the nation by students of all ages. This GLSEN sponsored event is where students remain silent for all or part of the school day to call attention to the harassment and discrimination faced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth. In honor of this day of protest, I had several events lined up for the weekend. This is part one of my weekend of adventures!

Tomorrow is the 18th National Day of Silence. Although I have graduated from college, I encourage my younger friends and supporters to consider participating in the event. Be silent and represent those who are silenced every day due to their sexual orientation or gender identity.
